What is Live Drawing?

Live drawing, also called live event illustration, is a way of bringing art into your celebration. Guests often stop and watch, it becomes entertainment and memory in one.

As a Live Event Artist, I attend your wedding or special event and create hand-drawn portraits of your guests in my signature Minimalist Line Art style.

Each sketch is one-of-a-kind experience for your guests, and a keepsake they can treasure long after the celebration.

Live Drawing at Events

I’ve had the pleasure of doing live drawing at a variety of events. One highlight was at Derbion Shopping Centre in Derby, where I joined Design 44’s Makers Market. I was fully booked throughout the day, sketching portraits from photos that shoppers could collect later.

I’ve also drawn live at The Garage, Chilwell, Nottingham’s biggest weekly market with a vibrant London feel, as well as The Stalls, West Bridgford, another popular local market.

If you’re planning a corporate event or a special occasion and want something truly unique, my live drawing service offers a creative and memorable experience. My fee is £149 per hour within Nottinghamshire.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if you can't finish all the guest drawings on the day?

Don’t worry - any portraits I don’t get to on the day will be carefully finished in my studio after the wedding. I’ll then post them to you together with the couple’s portrait, so you’ll receive everything in one package.

How much notice do you need to book?

 I recommend booking at least 3 months ahead, especially during peak wedding season. But do reach out. I'll always try to accommodate.

Do you also sketch the wedding couple?

Absolutely! Every package includes A4 Framed Minimalist Portrait of the couple. No need to worry about providing a photo - I’ll personally come and find you on the day to take one. Your finished portrait will then be completed after the wedding and delivered to you within 1-2 weeks.

Do you travel outside Nottinghamshire?

I’m based in Nottinghamshire, England, and travel up to an hour from here at no extra cost. For locations further away, I charge 45p per mile.

How do I pay /is a deposit required?

Yes, upon booking your date, you will need to pay £150 deposit to secure your date. The remaining amount should be paid 2 weeks before the wedding.

What do you need as a setup on the day?

Ideally, a well-lit space along with a sturdy, desk-height table and chair. Don’t worry, we’ll go over all the details together during our initial booking conversation.

What materials do you use for your drawings?

High quality Acrylic Paint, Inks, Watercolour, Markers. I. can use variety of tools to create my unique Minimalist Line Art drawings. I draw on high quality 300gsm non acid watercolour paper.
